Partly Facetious: After the genie is out of the bottle, what then?
"I am flabbergasted at what the government..."
"Please don't target the most maligned man in this country."
"Are you referring to the Chief Justice?"
"Where did he come in?"
"Well, the Zardis, as opposed to jiyalas, challenge everything the Chief Justice has done in the past and says in his court room today, talk that is clearly confrontational so I assumed you were referring to him?"
"Don't be facetious. I wasn't referring to the most maligned on the media by the Zardis; I meant the most maligned man in daily conversations throughout the length and breadth of this country namely AsifAli Zardari."
"And why shouldn't I malign him? Isn't that allowed for a party leader and a President who holds an official position and..."
"Because you have maligned the poor fellow enough! Leave the guy alone. He is on yet another visit to China with his two daughters in tow and..."
"What's this about his two daughters in tow? If Benazir Bhutto had done that you wouldn't have said two words about it! I urge you to become gender neutral."
"I give up. Actually when I said I was flabbergasted it had nothing to do with anything our President has done, it was actually about the army's growing anger against the Punjab government for refusing to acknowledge that Punjabi Taliban exist and need to be dealt with."
"I agree."
"What is the matter with the Sharifs?"
"I guess politics is being allowed precedence once again and the Sharifs must realise that surely the genie is out of the bottle given the number of suicide attacks in Punjab's heartland Lahore in recent months."
"And by genie you mean they can't control the Taliban even though they can win seats with their support?"
"Yes and given what Shahbaz Sharif stated publicly recently, that if the Taliban are against US influence in Pakistan then surely they shouldn't be carrying out suicide missions in Punjab given PML (N) views on the subject, is simply not enough to deter the Taliban from attacking Punjab."
"Indeed, and I sincerely hope that the Sharifs don't mess up Punjab."
"They are appearing less and less as an alternate party to the PPP."
